Nutrition can be a confusing topic and just about everyone now-a-days is an "expert." Almost daily we hear about some new diet trend, super food or supplement that promises to change our lives, bodies and health overnight. It is all so overwhelming and most of the time untrue or exaggerated.
Nutrition is not a "one-way-fits-all" matter. Every body is different and requires a unique set of nutrients based on many factors including age, activity level, medications, gender, health conditions and food sensitivities to name a few. My goal is to find a nutrition plan that works for you and your specific needs, goals and unique lifestyle.
Nutrition is only one cog in the wheel of health. In order to get truly healthy we must look at all aspects of your health such as stress levels, sleep habits, exercise, support systems, disease management etc.. I utilize a whole-body approach to wellness and my programs are lifestyle changes not just quick fixes.
What I Do
Diet and exercise need to be balanced in order to achieve successful weight loss. You can exercise as much as you'd like but if you are not eating healthy, you will not receive the full benefit of weight loss, and vice versa. I can educate you on ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise into your lifestyle and create an individualized plan to achieve your goals.
Most of the time weight loss is more complex than just calories in and calories out. Many things can effect your weight such as lack of sleep, stress, hormones, lack of support and disordered eating habits. I help you discover what other factors are keeping you from losing weight besides excess calories. Together we will work on making changes that will positively impact these factors.

Hi all! I have worked as an Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for the last 7 years. I've worked with a variety of clients and nutritional issues. I've spent the majority of my career in the little town of Nome, Alaska and just recently relocated to Sarasota, Florida where I opened my private practice. In Nome I was the Diabetes Prevetion Program Coordinator and also worked with patients that needed help managing a gambit of health issues from diabetes to weight loss. My last two years in Nome I was fortunate enough to take a management/dietitian position at WIC. WIC, as well as having 2 children literally back-to-back during that time, is where I developed a love for working with moms and is now where my passion lies.
As a mom of 2 young toddlers I understand the hurdles that can get in the way of leading a healthy lifestyle and how those hurdles can block the road to weight loss. I work with moms to help them understand the importance of making their health a priority in their lives again.
